The project a.i.s. study-horsemanship is devoted to a research of posture and locomotion and their interaction in the rider, in the horse and in the rider on the horse.
Its primary goal is a synthetis of classical (pre-1750s) and early modern (1850-1950s) equitational knowledge in light of current and forth-coming insight to the living body. In this context a school of modern equitation is scheduled for 2009.
Base of operations is the Haras de la Boulaye, a 100 ha estate near Bayeux, Normandy in the French countryside three hours away from Paris. There the fourty horses of divers blood-lines and life's experience live, that provide the basis for observations and development. Horses were bred and/or raised by the project's initiator and current director Christine Sander in the 1990s and have been under continuous observation there and in Bonn, at study-horsemanship's first stable.
The project is privately funded and seeks co-laborators for the expansion into research visualisation and the school. Contact ...
