Towards the end of last season Fabian was dissatisfied with his rider. "Why don't you ride me correctly", I heared him. "Yes, Fabian", my answer, "yes, but, .... how?".
Today...
...I again lifted my slumping right hand. Again I found it difficult to permanently correct this mistake. Again and again I would find my right hand lowered serendipidously and carried more forward than the left one.
It finally occured to me, that to permanently correct this fault correcting both hands may hold greater promise, and it did not take long to figure out that all along the problem had been my never releasing left hand.
Fabian, blowing his nostils, confirmed this new found freedom without delay. A left hand circle suggested itself and thinking of canter Fabian struck off into a left hand canter, successfully reconnecting where we left off with a problem last season.
It was a winter of diagonal stretches, of improved posture and of regaining yet more physical normality. Again the horses react favorably...
