La Boulaye is peaceful. You may want to rest, take leisurely walks and/or meet the horses of Study-Horsemanship's research of riding in the fields. Below are just some of the things you also can do.
Excursions
Chateau de la Boulaye is but a thirty minutes car drive from Omaha Beach, its museums and cemeteries. It is surrounded by a large number of ancient historic attractions, such as the Abbaye de Cerisy (1100s), the monastery Abbaye Mondaye (1600s) and the famous Tapestry of Bayeux (1100s). A one hour car drive takes you to Mont St. Michel while Paris can easily be reached by train in two hours. The extensive Forêt de Cerisy is only a few minutes away on foot and offers leisurely walks and great opportunities for wild life observation. It should be mentioned that Normandy is famous not only for its many historic sites, but its great variety of landscapes and many beautiful beaches, all of which are within easy driving range.
Riding Opportunities
The A.I.S's Study-Horsemanship research of riding program does not offer riding lessons as such, but welcomes research participation. For details concerning riding opportunities and the Association’s other projects please contact Christine Sander. Horses and their training can be viewed from the terrace of an outdoors café adjacent to the big school. Children may purchase five-minute-sit-on-the-horse tickets right there.
In Addition
Seminars will provide the opportunity to experience, learn, share and express things of mutual interest and concern.
In La Boulaye you will meet a family with extended interest and/or commitment in the visual arts and photography, music and the physiology of movement. You will find a liberal arts approach to the issues of our day. We invite you to add in dialogue and debate to 1Humanity, the Association of Interdisciplinary Studies' primary project.
